Custom design and built responsive website
Inhurst Landscapes, Website Design
Pickle Studio’s Design Brief: Inhurst Landscapes provide landscaping services to both the residential and commercial sectors. They required a custom designed responsive website that followed and built upon the brand style and colour palette that Pickle Studio had created. The website needed to be easy to navigate, communicate key points and showcase their work.
Stage 1 - Research & Planning
Pickle Studio began by doing background research into competitors and the target market. We discussed websites that the client liked and felt communicated in the way which they wanted the Inhurst site to. We talked about what information needed to be included in the website and produced a site map, planning this out.
Stage 2 - Design Concepts
Having a very visual product in the form of landscaped gardens we felt a series of scrolling large panoramic images would work well to showcase Inhurst’s work. Pickle Studio explored layout options around this theme, looking at how text was overlaid or incorporated within panels. Designs shown below are for the holding page which would also form the basis of the homepage for the website.
Stage 3 - Design Development
Pickle Studio built on the agreed holding page layout and working together with the Inhurst marketing team designed layouts for other pages within the website. We kept within the established clean simple style, our aim was to create a nice flow throughout the website with varied uncluttered pages that held the viewers attention and were easy to navigate on desktop, tablet and mobile versions of the website.
Stage 4 - Graphic Development & Build
Pickle Studio created all graphics required for the website, we collaborated with the Inhurst marketing team on image selection and text to be included within the website. Pickle Studio work closely with a partner company who build and host the website, we oversee the entire project to ensure the look and feel of the website and branding are consistent. A work in progress version of the website is viewable by the client online to keep up to date and give feedback, when everyone is happy, the website is then made ‘live’.
