Amphora Aromatics, Spa Brochure Design
Pickle Studio Brochure Design Brief: Amphora Aromatics is one of the UK’s biggest suppliers of Pure Essential Oils and Aromatherapy Sundries. They create high quality products and provide them at the best possible prices. Amphora Aromatics required a brochure that would work as a sales tool to help them increase their sales in the spa market. The brochure needed to capture feelings and benefits of using the products and appeal to spa owners and managers.
Stage 1 - Research
Pickle Studio began with background research into competitors and the target market. We looked at directions/themes that the brochure design concepts could take. We call these ‘design springboards’. We discussed the boards with the clients, deciding on the direction in which we should take the brochure designs.
Stage 2 - Design Concepts
Having agreed with the client that we should break away from the more clinical whites and watery bluey greens to have greater stand out from the competition, Pickle Studio produced 3 design concepts which focussed in the the rich and luxurious arena, injecting warmth and freshness with supporting colours. We demonstrated different layout styles across the concepts – open full page imagery with overlaid text, a grid approach and a collage style.
Stage 3 - Design Development
Pickle Studio developed the clients preferred design concept. Amphora Aromatics provided draft text for us to use and we produced sketches and then design/photographic layouts for the all pages. The brochure required a mix of stock library and original photography. We sourced, organised and managed this.
Stage 4 - Photographic Retouching & Digital Artwork
Pickle Studio retouched photographic imagery, making colour adjustments and in some cases building images from multiple photographs. We produced digital artwork for all pages of the brochure and liaised with printers to ensure that our design printed well and looked great.
